Antonio Conte says that the current transfer market has been crazy

Antonio Conte says that the current transfer market has been crazy in certain ways, but Chelsea have a plan when it comes to getting the players that they need to perform well in the upcoming campaign.

Conte will have to take Chelsea back to the top levels of the English Premier league following a very disappointing campaign in which they could only manage a 10th place finish. After having witnessed clubs spend more than €100 million on player, onte acknowledges that the era of value for money may have gone from the transfer market.

Due to the lack of Champions League revenue, Chelsea will have to dig deep into the pockets of owner Roman Abramovich in order to come up with the funds to sign expensive players. The blues have spent money so far the hope of revamping the squad. The likes ofMichyBatshuayiand N'GoloKante have been expensive acquisitions and they have taken the total summer spending beyond £ 50 million. However, this is pale in comparison with both Manchester clubs. United have spent £ 90 million only on Paul Pogba while City have exceeded the £ 100 million mark in order to support Pep Guardiola.
