Chelsea Places Bid For Emenike

As per some of the reports in the Turkish media, Chelsea has placed a bid of about 15 million Pounds for Emmanuel Emenike, the 27-year old Nigerian forward, who is currently a contracted player of Fenerbahce.

The Blues are keen to get in a few quality forwards this summer. They are already after the Spaniard Diego Costa and now, they have set their eyes on Emenike as well.

Chelsea should be able to secure the Emenike deal with the amount of money that they have reportedly offered to Fenerbahce.

Emenike himself is also quite interested in playing in English top tier. Recently, he said in one of his interviews in Brazil that if he is approached by a good English club, he would not reject the offer.

When asked about the rumours of him on the radar of Chelsea, the Nigerian international said, “Right since my childhood, I’ve wanted to play in the English league. So, if I am given any such chance, I would definitely grab it.”

Emenike had signed for Fenerbahce at the start of the 2013-14 Season after leaving the Russian club Spartak Moscow and in his very first season there in Turkey, he managed to win millions of hearts.

He proved to be one of the most successful players for Fenerbahce during the season. He found the back of the net 12 times to help the Yellow Canaries win the Turkish league.

A couple of Nigerian big guns i.e. John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses are already at Stamford Bridge. So, that would also prompt Emenike to make his way to Chelsea.

However, prior to that, Emenike has to play one of the biggest games of his career tomorrow. He would feature for Nigeria in the World Cup pre quarter final game against France in Brazil.
