Costa Takes Chelsea By Surprise

The Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has said that Diego Costa has taken his new teammates by surprise with his exceptional skills.

Costa made his way into the Blues camp last month from Atletico Madrid. He cost Chelsea 32 million Pounds.

The Spaniard had smashed 27 goals in the La Liga last season playing for Atletico. He was the X-factor for the Los Indios. It was his debut season at Vicente Calderon Stadium and he made a huge impression there straightaway.

Costa has made a good start at Chelsea as well. Featuring in the pre season game against Olimpija Ljubljana a few days ago, he had found the back of the net and had made Chelsea win by a narrow margin of 2-1.

According to Mourinho, Costa is one of those guys who think about the team all the time. He doesn’t always look to score himself. He is pretty good at setting goals as well and that’s what makes him a manager’s delight. His commitment level is pretty high too.

In the words of Mourinho, “Diego has got enormous physical strength and he uses every bit of it on the pitch. There will never be a lack of effort from his side. Also, he is extremely skilful. You can’t find too many drawbacks in his game technique wise.”

“The way he goes about his job in the training sessions, it’s terrific. People get surprised with the things that he does with the ball. He is blessed with exceptional abilities.”

“Diego is a hard worker and that’s why he has been very successful over the last year or so. I am pleased to have brought him here.”
Apart from Costa, Mourinho has made another addition to his attacking line recently in the form of Didier Drogba. The Ivory Coast International is already a Blues legend having played for them for quite a few years in the past.
