CHELSEA CONSIDERING SWOOP FOR AUSTRIAN STRIKER
European champions Chelsea are considering making a move for tall striker SasaKalajdzicthis summer. According to the Daily Mail, Austrian international Kaladjzic is seen as an alternative if Chelsea don't sign prime target ErlingHaaland.
West London giants Chelsea are prepared to wait till the latter stages of this summer's transfer window to see if they would be able to break Borussia Dortmund and their resolve to keep Norwegian international Haalandat the club beyond this summer. Dortmund have always maintained that Haaland is not for sale especially after losing the services of Jadon Sancho to Manchester United in a £73m deal.
Chelsea wanted to add to their striking options this summer at the start of the current transfer window and it is now almost inevitable that they must sign a striker after Frenchman Olivier Giroud left the club for Italian Serie A side AC Milan. England international striker Tammy Abraham is not in the future plans of manager Thomas Tuchel and he's also expected to leave Chelsea this summer.
Reigning Champions League winners Chelsea had a cash-plus-player offer turned down by Borussia Dortmund for Haaland last week as revealed by the Daily Mail. The same report said that Chelsea are looking at Kalajdzic who plays his club football in the German Bundesliga with VfB Stuttgart. It was revealed that the Blues face competition from London rivalsTottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund for the Austrian national team player.
Kaladjzic scored 14 goals and three assists for Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga last season and his club is holding out for £30m for a potential transfer.
Stuttgart are in no hurry to sell Kaladjzic after they sold Nicolas Gonzalez to Italian Serie A outfit Fiorentina for £20m earlier this summer.
Kaladjzic joined Stuttgart from Austrian team Admira Wacker two years ago.
