EASY WIN PREDICTED FOR CHELSEA
Mark Lawrenson has predicted an easy win for Chelsea against Norwich City in their Premier League clash this weekend. The ex-Liverpool player said this in his column for the BBC Sports as he looked ahead to matchday nine games. The BBC pundit backed the Chelsea for a 2-0 win over the Canaries.
Chelsea have won their last three games in all competitions and they can make it four victories in a row with an home win over Norwich City who are at the foot of the Premier League table. Norwich City have two points from eight league appearances this season ahead of their visit to Stamford Bridge to take on the European champions. Norwich City are four points adrift of safety on the Premier League log after a record of two draws and six defeats this season.
League leaders Chelsea warmed up for the Norwich City game with an emphatic win over Malmo FF in the Champions League in midweek. Andreas Christensen, Kai Havertz and Jorginho (brace) were all on target as Chelsea thrashed the Swedish champions 4-0 at home. It was the third successive win for the Blues in all competitions on the back of a two-game losing run from matches against Manchester City (Premier League) at home and Juventus (Champions League) away from home.
Chelsea have won their last two games in the Premier League and a win over Norwich City will make it three victories. Also, Chelsea are guaranteed a place at the summit for one more week at least with a win over the Canaries.
Ahead of the Norwich City game, Chelsea would be without the attacking trio of RomeluLukaku, Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner due to injury. Lukaku and Werner joined Pulisic on the treatment table after the Malmo game. Werner and Lukaku were subbed off with respective injuries during the Champions League clash with Malmo.
