During the months of December of 2014 and January of the current year, Coventry City snatch only 2 victories which led to the English League One club on entering into the relegation zone and after being in charge of Coventry City for almost 2 years, Steven Pressley was sacked due to this string of negative results.

Neil MacFarlane was the assistant of Steven Pressley and he was put into temporary charge of the club along with the professional development coach Dave Hockaday.

Coventry City was in the lead during their League One match against Sheffield United on February 21st as Dominic Samuel had scored twice and turned the scoreboard into a comfortable scoreboard of 2-0 in favor of his team but they failed on holding onto their advantage and ultimately had to settle with only 1 point after Sheffield United had tied the game 2-2.

This result was especially disappointing taking into consideration that the home team was forced to play with 10 men on the pitch after Jose Baxter had to be sent off of the pitch after being shown with the red card at the 19th minute and Coventry City was on their way of securing a much needed victory but it didn’t happen.

It’s been over 50 years since Coventry City has competed in the 4th tier of English Football in League Two and if things continue going on the way that it is right now, they could be relegated and enter that league once again which is not what the owners and fans of Coventry City want to see as the club wants to continue competing in League One instead of suffering the disappointing outcome of being relegated.
