Jose Mourinho has received backing from yet another source
Jose Mourinho has received backing from yet another source – this time from a former Chelsea manager in the form of Roberto di Matteo – after yet another defeat in the Premier League. The blues are 16th of the table and are looking no close towards redeeming themselves.
If this persists, Chelsea may very well find themselves in a relegation trouble in a few months. Mourinho could not have picked the best time for an international break, as focus shifts towards the friendly matches for the next 15 days. In the meantime, he has received backing from the likes of Sven Goran Eriksson and Roberto di Matteo.
The former Chelsea manager remains as the only person to have lifted the Champions League title with the blues. Di Matteo, however, was sacked after just six months. It was during the time when Roman Abramovich had zero patience with his manager. Now, though, things appear to have changed immensely with Chelsea sticking by their manager even after this latest defeat. A number of personalities, who have achieved immensely in the game, have been backing the Portuguese to turn around the difficult situation. However, Mourinho has never been in such a position before and he has not indicated at resigning just yet.
"I really hope Mourinho is going to stay long term, stability is so important for the club. We have short memories but only four months ago we won the double.Chelsea have been so successful for the last 15 years and it can happen that you have a bad year, but there is so much quality in the team and the club has one of the best managers in the world," said di Matteo, who recently had a spell in German football with Schalke. He suffered defeat with Schalke against Mourinho only last season.
