Tony Pulis is that it would be wrong to credit Guus Hiddink
West Brom manager Tony Pulis is that it would be wrong to credit Guus Hiddink as to sole reason for Chelsea’s revival inform over the last few weeks.
The London club parted company with Jose Mourinho just seven months after winning the league title. Extremely poor form that persisted for several months left the club near the relegation zone when Mourinho was sacked. Since the arrival of the Dutchman, though, there has been a tremendous improvement in form. There has made a tremendous change in the attitude from the players right from the first day.
This has led to widespread praise forHiddink, who prepares to face West Brom on Wednesday night. Pulis, however, is not convinced that the Dutchman is worthy of the entire praise since he feels that Mourinho did not do much wrong at the club. Pulis says that it was only seven months ago that Chelsea won the title by a comfortable margin over the chasing pack. The blues have managed to go five games unbeaten in all competitions. The recent 2-0 win over Scunthorpe United put them in the fourth round of the FA Cup where they will face either Northampton Town or MK Dons.
After back-to-back victories in the league, West Brom will be high on confidence going into the match at Stamford Bridge."The fact is Mourinho won the league last season by a country mile. There might have been other reasons that things didn't go so well this year but to put Jose down is completely and utterly out of order. What you said was disrespectful to Mourinho and also the players that won the league last year because they played some great football last year, some fantastic football. We're in for a tough game It's Chelsea they've some wonderful players and we'll have to be on it and at our best,” said Pulis.
